I adopted Molly from the Colorado Humane Society in June, 2003.  A week after her adoption she was in the hospital being treated for parvo.  Being a tough character, she beat the disease and came home.  She then went back to be spayed.  As a result of her hospital stays and recuperation at home she didn't meet other dogs.  When she did finally get to meet other dogs she just didn't like them!  She would bark furiously and lunge at them showing them her very white teeth.  I had wanted a dog I could walk and take to the dog park and generally have fun with in public.  Instead, I had a dog that was definitely no social butterfly.  The only dog she liked (loved actually) was my son's rottweiler Elvis, who passed away recently.  I tried the training program through a nationally-known company and that was not successful.  I tried medication but that just made her appetite shut down. I was at my wits end when I talked to Molly's Vet.  She suggested I call Kari.  That was the turning point!  Kari met with me and Molly privately.  She worked with us and helped me realize that I needed to be the "alpha" in the relationship.  Molly went from a dog that barked at the neighbor's dog like a dog possessed to a dog that still barks at her neighbor but stops and comes when she is called.  She is able to go to the dog park and play with the other dogs.  She can take a walk and not be frantic when seeing another dog.  She has taken all the classes offered with Kari at City Bark and successfully completed them.  Molly is anxiously waiting to enroll in Kari's future agility class.  Best of all, my son was able to adopted George and Molly has become a "big sister". I never considered giving Molly away.  That was not an option.  When that other training program failed and medication didn't seem to work either I am so thankful that I talked to the Vet.  I might still be living with a frenzied dog and being frustrated at every turn had it not been for their recommendation that I call Kari Bastyr.
