Puppy Board and Train in Minneapolis, MN: Potty Training and Basics
Is your puppy struggling with potty training? Are you a first time puppy owner, working long hours, or heading out of town and looking for a positive alternative to a noisy, stressful kennel? If you live near Minneapolis and want your puppy to return home already making progress on potty training and the basics, you're in the right place. While I take puppies from around the state, most of them are from Minneapolis and surrounding suburbs (St. Louis Park, Plymouth, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Edina, Eden Prairie, Chanhassen, Medina, Maple Grove, Wayzata, etc).
Welcome to Wag & Train's Puppy Board and Train program. Your puppy stays in my home, not a kennel, and gets one on one attention from me and my chocolate Lab, Birdie, who is very much part of the training team.
What Makes This Puppy Board and Train Program Different
This is not a boarding kennel. I only take one puppy at a time, so your puppy gets my full attention in a real home environment. That means LVP floors, real furniture, real family routines, and real life practice instead of a crate in a busy facility. I work from home, so your puppy will be with me all day, and we train throughout until bedtime. I will even let your puppy sleep with me if that is what works best for you. But most puppies sleep in a crate in my bedroom or in my family room- whatever you prefer.
I focus on potty training first, since that's the number one reason families reach out. From there, we build in foundational obedience, socialization, and impulse control so your puppy comes home with real progress you can keep building on.

-
Impulse control help for nipping, biting, and chewing

Puppy Board and Train Requirements
-
Puppies must be younger than 6 months old
-
Puppies should be home for at least 2 weeks before coming to me
-
Puppies must be 25 pounds or less
-
Puppies must eat a gluten free food (no wheat, barley, rye, or spelt)
That last one is because I have severe Celiac Disease and need to keep my home gluten free for my own safety. Don't worry if your puppy isn't currently on a gluten free food. Puppies transition to a new food for their stay all the time, and it is usually simple and easy. Your puppy does not need to be on a grain free diet, just a gluten free one. I'm happy to recommend safe options and walk you through a transition plan. I offer general puppy nutrition guidance too if you're interested, as I am a certified pet nutritionist through the Feed Real Institute.
