Bogart: Pandemic Puppy Makes New Friends

Dog Training Success Story Testimonial

During the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, my Lab-mix Bogart started showing aggressive behavior around dogs. He was getting in tussles at the dog park. He was also ot welcomed back at doggie daycare because of his aggressive behavior. Due to the pandemic, no one was able to do any dog training in-person, but Kari offered Online Training sessions. I was hesitant at first, but personally having a background in behavior analysis Kari’s resume persuaded me to give it a try. At our first Zoom appointment, it was clear she knew her stuff about dogs (duh), but more importantly about the principles of behavior.  We had 3 online sessions, and 1 in-person session once the state lockdown was lifted.

By building Bogart’s confidence around other dogs we were able to get closer in proximity and eventually move to greetings with real dogs. With the help of Kari, he can keep his cool and walk past dogs now. Bogart has also been making new four-legged friends! He is once again playing with dogs in controlled environments, which is something I never thought he would do. He has a new best friend who he drags me to go see every day. The training never stops when it comes to working around other dogs, but I couldn’t be happier with my decision to work with Kari. We have since moved to a bigger city and Bogart is crushing it!
