Taking my 6 year old dog, Rio, to see Kari is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Rio is a sweet, smart and awesome dog, but she has a tendency to snap, lunge or bark when she feels scared. We adopted Rio as a puppy, from the CO Puppy Rescue, and Kari immediately identified that she was a reservation dog and her fear based aggression was just part of her biology. Kari’s extensive knowledge about Rio’s “breed(s)”, and how to help, was a huge relief. Within 2 weeks of seeing Kari for the first time, and implementing her suggestions, I could already start to see a difference in Rio’s mood and energy level.
By reinforcing Rio’s good behavior, tweaking her diet, and giving her a job, Rio is a happier and more confident dog, and I’m a happier and more confident mom. We know how to handle potential situations better, and it’s been amazing to see the transformation in both of us. The first time I met with Kari I think I cried half the time because I felt so helpless. By our third visit, Rio knew all of the new commands, was totally relaxed and behaving like the calm, awesome dog that I always hoped she could be…and I was all smiles.
